Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Real Sociedad for the signing of Sadiq Umar.
The Nigerian international striker (Kaduna, 02/02/1997) returns to Mestalla on a contract running until June 2028.
Sadiq played with VCF’s jersey last season in 19 matches and scored six goals after joining in January, becoming a key figure and making a clear impact in attack during a second half of the campaign in which the team significantly improved its results.
His physical presence, aerial dominance, and ability to create danger both from long balls and combination play earned him—along with his charisma—the affection of the Valencia fanbase very quickly. During this period, he was also awarded the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for March for his backheel goal against CA Osasuna.
The arrival of the 28-year-old striker, who has extensive experience across different leagues and has proven his ability to perform at a high level in a Valencia CF shirt, will add greater versatility, resources, and competitiveness to the team’s attacking line under head coach Carlos Corberán.
